Board of Zoning Appeals

Section 15.2-2308 of the Code of Virginia, Counties, Cities and Towns, requires any zoned locality to establish a Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA).

Building & Fire Code Appeals

The Local Board of Building and Fire Code Appeals, is a 5 member board, appointed by the King George County Board of Supervisors, whose charge is to render fair and competent decisions regarding the application of the USBC and shall to the extent possible, represent different occupational or professional fields relating to the construction industry.

Economic Development Authority

The King George County's Economic Development Authority (EDA) is a Board-appointed Authority whose responsibility it is to promote King George County, Virginia, as an excellent location for commerce and trade.

Local Emergency Planning Committee

The committee is taked with developing, reviewing and disseminating an emergency response plan, at least annually, while providing information for citizens of King George.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is a 10 member Commission, appointed by the King George Board of Supervisors, whose charge it is to review and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding Code Amendments, Special Use Permits, Rezonings, and the Comprehensive and Capital Improvement Plans. In addition, the Planning Commission reviews and approves or disapproves preliminary subdivision plats.

Ralph Bunche High School Advisory Committee

Established on August 7, 2012, the RBHS Advisory Committee is tasked with preserving and educating the King George citizens and visitors of the historical significance of the Black High School that operated during the segregation of schools.
