High Mileage Discount Deadline

King George County provides a personal property assessment discount to vehicles that qualify as high mileage. The qualification is based on J.D. Power mileage tables. To see if a vehicle qualifies for the high mileage discount, view the 2026 High Mileage Chart (PDF).
To receive this deduction in personal property taxes, residents must submit documentation providing proof their vehicle qualifies for the discount by Feb. 15 each year. Acceptable proof can be any of the following methods received on or near January 1 of each year:
- a state inspection receipt,
- an oil change receipt or
- a repair bill.
Proof can be submitted by Feb. 15th each year via one of the methods below.
- Online through our High Mileage Discount form.
